Buenos Aires Pride March draws thousands, with Nicki Nicole among attendees
Thousands joined Buenos Aires’ 35th Pride March on Saturday, celebrating visibility for travesti, transgender and non-binary people.
The march’s slogan was “When hate advances, pride in the streets is resistance.”
Nicki Nicole, La Joaqui, Evelyn Botto and Diego Poggi took part in the day’s events.
Nicki Nicole appeared on a float run by Fiesta Polenta alongside the Mocha Celis Civil Association, which works to support education, employment and rights for these communities.
The march followed a changed route from the area of 9 de Julio and Avenida de Mayo to the National Congress, rather than starting at Plaza de Mayo.
The change was made for security arrangements ahead of Pope Leo XIV’s planned visit the next day.
The march ended at Congress, where performances included María Becerra, La Joaqui, Six Sex and K4OS, as well as a tribute to singer Gilda.
