Indian Hyundai customers show growing interest in EVs and comfort features

At Kundan Hyundai in Pune, India, a couple reserved a Creta Electric, part of Hyundai's locally popular Creta SUV range.

The dealership's manager says interest in electric vehicles is steadily growing, especially in large cities.

Hindu festival periods such as Navratri are also busy car-buying times, and the dealer says sales rise from 300–350 cars a month to more than 500.

Indian buyers increasingly weigh safety and comfort features, including sunroofs, connected-car technology and touchscreen systems, alongside price and reliability.

Customers are also paying more attention to service and maintenance after buying a car.

Hyundai has operated in India since 1996 and expects to reach 10 million cumulative sales in India this year.

The couple expected to receive their new car the following week.
