Lions place Jimmy Rolder on injured reserve after season-ending hamstring injury

The Detroit Lions placed linebacker Jimmy Rolder on injured reserve after he suffered a season-ending hamstring injury during Sunday's win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Rolder, a fourth-round pick, had 11 tackles and one sack in five appearances this regular season.

He was hurt on the same play as linebacker Jack Campbell, who has remained hospitalized with a neck injury since Sunday.

The team said it will sign linebacker K.J. Britt from the Patriots' practice squad to fill a roster need.

The Lions also waived defensive back Bishop Fitzgerald, who did not play in a game for Detroit after joining the team in September.

Detroit has another open roster spot available.
