Italy recalls 59 lots of deli meats over possible Listeria

Italy’s Health Ministry has flagged 59 lots of deli meat for recall because they may contain Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium.

The products include veal with tuna sauce, cooked turkey and pork loin sold under Eurospin’s Portami Via and A.M.M.53 Pasticceria-Gastronomia brands.

They were made by A.M.M.53 at its plant in Spresiano, in the province of Treviso.

The recall covers specific batches and use-by dates listed by the ministry, with pack sizes ranging from 170 grams to 2 kilograms.

Listeria can cause illness, so the company says do not eat the affected products.

Anyone who has one should dispose of it or return it to the shop where it was bought.

The recall follows an earlier warning about another batch of Eurospin veal with tuna sauce, and now also includes other batches and products.
