Poll puts Vicentinho Júnior ahead of Dorinha in Tocantins runoff

A Real Time Big Data poll puts Vicentinho Júnior ahead of Senator Professor Dorinha in the runoff for governor of Tocantins, a state in Brazil.

It gives the federal deputy from the PSDB 52% of valid votes, against Dorinha’s 48%.

Valid votes exclude blank and null ballots, and the poll’s margin of error is 2 percentage points.

The survey interviewed 1,600 Tocantins voters from October 15 to 19, with a stated confidence level of 95%.

Dorinha led Vicentinho in the first round, winning 45.52% of valid votes to his 43.94%, but the latest poll shows the lead has switched.

A separate Paraná Pesquisas poll also put Vicentinho ahead, though it showed a larger lead, at 56.5% to 43.5% of valid votes.

The runoff is due on October 25, and polls reflect voter views at the time rather than guarantee the result.
