Turkish textile exports reach $7.16 billion in first nine months of 2026

Turkey's textile sector exported $7.16 billion worth of goods from January through September 2026.

Producers sent 1.84 million tonnes of textiles to 201 countries and free zones.

The European Union was the largest regional market, buying $2.69 billion, while Italy was the top country at $563 million.

Fabric made up the biggest product category, with $4.35 billion in exports.

Industry representative Ahmet Öksüz says Turkey wants to strengthen its position in Europe and make better use of opportunities in the United States and other markets.

He says stronger exports may follow if global demand gradually recovers and inflation pressures in key markets ease.

The longer-term goal is to raise Turkey's share of world textile trade and increase the value added in its exports.
