Hyundai Motor Group unveils hydrogen production and mobility systems

Hyundai Motor Group presented hydrogen technologies at the World Hydrogen Expo 2026 in Goyang, South Korea.

The group showed solutions spanning hydrogen production and transport at the exhibition, which runs through November 6.

It unveiled a module that combines 12 water-electrolysis stacks to make a 5-megawatt unit.

Each unit is designed to produce about 700 tonnes of hydrogen a year, and multiple units could be linked to build larger plants.

The company also introduced a more durable fuel-cell system for commercial vehicles, alongside hydrogen buses, trucks and rail technology.

The display connects hydrogen production with ways to use it in transport, industry and cities.

Hyundai is running a 1-megawatt demonstration facility in Gwangju and pursuing further demonstrations in other parts of South Korea.

The expo continues through November 6, with vehicle test drives and industry discussions on investment and cooperation.
