Workers say checking AI output can take longer than doing the task themselves
A Use.AI survey asked 8,316 people who use AI at work in the UK, EU, US, Canada, Australia and Latin America about its effect on their jobs.
Many said AI makes it easier to create documents, memos and code, but its output can need substantial revision.
Nearly half had received AI-assisted work needing correction, and 43% said they had to redo unsuitable work.
Thirty-nine percent said checking AI took longer than doing the task themselves, while 41% reported more time spent reviewing and verifying work since adopting AI.
The survey also found that 34% had forwarded AI-assisted work without checking it, and 58% said their workplace had no checking rules.
The findings raise questions about whether AI is saving time when errors and quality problems require extra oversight.
A Use.AI survey found that 39% of workplace AI users said checking AI’s work took longer than doing the task themselves.
The survey included 8,316 adults who use AI at work across several regions.
Almost 48% said they had received AI-assisted work that needed correction, and 43% said they had to redo unsuitable AI work.
While 62% said AI made it easier to create documents, memos or code, 34% said they forwarded AI-assisted work without checking it.
The findings point to added review and correction work as a possible limit on AI’s productivity benefits.
