Istanbul airport’s premium terminal targets 100 passengers a day by 2027

Istanbul Airport and luxury travel company Jetex have opened a premium passenger terminal to serve international travellers seeking private, higher-end services.

The terminal aims to strengthen Istanbul’s appeal to wealthy visitors, beyond its role as a place to change planes.

Its director says it handles 40 to 45 passengers a day, with a goal of reaching 100 by the end of 2027.

Services include private suites, spa facilities, restaurants and meeting rooms, while suites cost extra.

Arrival service costs 750 euros and departure service 950 euros; a package covering both costs 1,300 euros.

The business hopes visitors will spend more in Istanbul on hotels, food, shopping, transport and cultural activities, helping broaden tourism income.

The terminal plans to grow through repeat customers and international partnerships, while similar investments in destinations such as Antalya may be considered in coming years.
