Indonesia’s traffic police chief urges faster response to 110 calls

Traffic police chief Aries Syahbudin urged police to improve responses to calls on 110 across Indonesia.

The number is a police emergency service where people can report problems and request help.

Syahbudin said officers need to be ready, coordinate well and follow up reports quickly so callers receive appropriate assistance.

He said police should provide a real benefit to the public, not only carry out routine duties and enforce rules.

Helpful service should go hand in hand with professional and firm law enforcement, he said.

Syahbudin was appointed traffic police chief on October 12, 2026.

The push supports national police chief Suyudi Ario Seto’s “Police Together with the Community” approach, and no further steps were specified.
