NOVUS raises eight-figure funding to bring its electric Lightbike to California

German mobility company NOVUS raised an eight-figure funding round led by venture capital firm 468 Capital.

The Braunschweig-based startup makes the NOVUS One, a lightweight electric two-wheeler that blends features of an e-bike, scooter and motorcycle.

The company aims to take the Lightbike from Germany to California, though the available details do not say when.

NOVUS was founded in 2019, and its first vehicles began reaching European customers in spring 2026.

The NOVUS One is designed for urban travel and can reach 50 km/h from a standstill in under two seconds.

The funding supports NOVUS's push to expand beyond Europe, but the amount and specific plans for California are not given.

The company says it hopes to use later models to reach a broader group of customers.
