Study says Saudi entertainment sector supports economic and social change

An Egyptian PhD study says Saudi Arabia’s entertainment industry is helping drive economic and social change.

The research was prepared by Salah Maher at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

It links the sector’s growth to Vision 2030’s goal of diversifying the economy and improving quality of life.

The study highlights the General Entertainment Authority’s role in developing the industry and supporting events and initiatives.

It recommends bringing more facilities and events to regions beyond Riyadh and Jeddah so more communities can share in the benefits.

It also calls for support for smaller businesses, investment, and training Saudi workers for entertainment jobs.

The study’s recommendations include expanding local content and infrastructure, but it does not set out a timetable for these changes.
