Golden Dragon begins drilling across a 3km gold anomaly in WA
Golden Dragon Mining has begun drilling at its Cue gold project in Western Australia’s Murchison region.
The company plans to drill 6,000 to 9,000 metres to investigate gold-in-soil anomalies stretching over three kilometres.
Earlier surface work linked the Curtis Find, Behring Bore, Coodardy and Piston prospects, raising the possibility that they belong to one larger mineralised system.
The new drilling will test whether the surface signals continue into gold-bearing rock below ground and help the company choose targets for later drilling.
This is an exploration test, not confirmation of a new deposit.
Golden Dragon is also waiting for results from 2,833 metres of recent drilling at Coodardy and Behring Bore, where earlier work found high-grade gold.
Golden Dragon Mining has begun aircore drilling at its Cue Gold project in Western Australia’s Murchison region.
The 6,000m to 9,000m program will test gold-in-soil anomalies across a corridor more than three kilometres long.
The targets are in the Coodardy and Behring Bore area, where surface work has linked four prospects.
The drilling will test whether the surface anomalies reflect gold mineralisation in the bedrock and help guide follow-up work.
The company is also awaiting assay results from 2,833m of recently completed reverse-circulation drilling.
- Who
- Golden Dragon Mining.
- What
- It has started an aircore drilling program to test gold-in-soil anomalies.
- When
- The program was reported as having begun on October 23, 2026.
- Where
- The Cue Gold project in Western Australia’s Murchison region, about 60km north of Cue.
- Why
- To test whether the surface anomalies are associated with bedrock mineralisation and help prioritise targets for further drilling.
This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
