Joe Rogan criticises Australia's gun buyback and restrictions
Podcaster Joe Rogan criticised Australia's gun laws, saying the country was wrong to surrender firearms after the 1996 Port Arthur massacre.
That attack killed 35 people and led the government to ban some weapons and buy back firearms.
More than 650,000 guns were surrendered under that scheme.
Rogan has also criticised Australian pandemic rules and said he would not move to the country.
His comments are opinions; the account also notes that actor Russell Crowe defended Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Rogan's podcast last year.
A new gun buyback follows the 2025 Bondi massacre, in which 15 people were killed.
Payments for newly banned firearms begin November 2 under a 2025 law.

What people are saying
They thought they were doing the right thing... and now their government is just locking them up for anything they want
I used to think Australia but then I saw how they handled the pandemic. I was like, "oh f***, that well that's what happens when no one has guns
We're a little bit lucky at the moment, we have a Prime Minister who is very much motivated by trying to help everybody, which should be the job of a politician right? To improve the lives of the people they represent
What a cage Australia is
