Alabama dismisses Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. after arrest over alleged messages to officer

Alabama has dismissed defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. after his arrest on misdemeanor charges over alleged harassment and doxing of a police officer.

The officer works for the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and had been involved in Kirkpatrick Jr.'s 2025 arrest.

Kirkpatrick allegedly sent the officer messages and posted a photo of him with his family on Facebook.

He was suspended before Alabama's recent game against Texas A&M and did not play.

The charges are allegations, not proof of guilt, and the sources do not say how the case will proceed.

Kirkpatrick Jr. had previously been suspended after his 2025 arrest and also faces a separate misdemeanor charge related to leaving the scene of an accident in June 2026.

He will no longer be part of Alabama's football program, coach Kalen DeBoer said.
