Sarah Storey says nine-year-old son Charlie has Type 1 diabetes
Paralympian Sarah Storey says her nine-year-old son Charlie has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
Charlie was admitted to hospital with very high blood pressure, and Storey spent her first week away from Strictly Come Dancing by his side.
His father, Barney, and sister, Louisa, also have the condition, which Storey said can run in families.
Type 1 diabetes means the body does not make insulin, so people need to manage their blood sugar.
Charlie is already giving himself injections and working out his doses, Storey said.
She said she was grateful to be home to support him as he learns to manage the condition.

What people are saying
This week has been quite a week, my nine-year-old son Charlie got admitted to hospital a few days ago, he had really high blood pressure.
And just as his sister was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 12 months ago, Charlie has had the same diagnosis too.
But he's doing an incredible job, he's already doing the injections himself, working out the dosages so it's quite remarkable just how resilient he has been.
