Mel Brooks filmed his Spaceballs sequel scenes early at age 100

Mel Brooks filmed his part in the Spaceballs sequel early after asking the team not to wait because he is 100.

Actress Daphne Zuniga said Brooks made the request, and the team filmed his scenes before the rest of the movie.

The sequel follows the 1987 science-fiction comedy Spaceballs, which Brooks co-wrote and produced as a parody of Star Wars and other science-fiction films.

Zuniga and Bill Pullman are returning as Princess Vespa and Lone Starr, alongside Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet.

Pullman’s son Lewis plays the couple’s son, and Keke Palmer is also in the film.

Spaceballs: The New One is scheduled to open April 23, 2027.
