Indonesia Reports Rp126 Trillion in Foreign Inflows, but Stocks See Outflows
Indonesia recorded about Rp126 trillion in foreign capital inflows from January through October 2026, Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara said in Jakarta.
He said the money was drawn mainly to government bonds and Bank Indonesia rupiah securities, known as SBN and SRBI.
These are financial instruments that let the government and central bank attract investment.
The accounts differ on stocks: one says foreign investors were net sellers, while another describes the Rp126 trillion as inflows to the stock market.
Suahasil said government bond yields have started to rise amid pressure from global conditions, even as the instruments remain attractive to foreign investors.
The government also wants more direct investment in projects and the real economy, and plans to improve conditions in the stock market.
No specific next steps or timetable were given.
