Samsung Wallet Money and Points tops 3 million users after one year

Samsung Wallet Money and Points has passed 3 million users one year after launching in South Korea.

The Samsung Electronics service lets people add money to their Samsung Wallet, pay with it and earn points.

The points can be used like cash on a later purchase, and the company says users can earn them without monthly spending requirements or limits.

New app updates add overseas payments and rewards tiers, rolling out from October 20.

The four tiers are based on points earned over a year, with extra benefits for some users, including a 3% additional reward for people aged 14 to 29.

Anniversary promotions start October 27, offering points for first payments and overseas purchases, as well as prize draws and other rewards.

The changes are intended to expand the service and give users more ways to earn and use benefits.
