Shiffrin shifts focus to giant slalom and super-G this season
Mikaela Shiffrin is broadening her focus as she begins her 16th season on the World Cup ski circuit.
The three-time Olympic champion will prioritize training in giant slalom and super-G, while still competing in slalom, her strongest event.

Shiffrin says the shift is about recovering better and training with more intention, not caring or working less.
Her World Cup season starts with giant slalom in Soelden, Austria, on Oct.
24, and she expects her first slalom race to be in Killington, Vermont, over Thanksgiving weekend.
She is also making her podcast less scripted in its second season, aiming to listen more closely and let conversations flow.
