Indonesia Plans Rp3 Trillion Chicken Breeding Center in East Java

Indonesia plans a national chicken breeding center in Malang, East Java, under Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman.

Amran said the government had set aside Rp3 trillion for the project, while another account described Rp3 trillion in support for East Java during 2025–2026 and an additional Rp600 billion for livestock and chicken breeding.

The facility is planned for grandparent stock, the breeding birds that produce the next generation of chickens used to supply farms.

The center is intended to supply chicken breeders across Indonesia and strengthen the country’s poultry supply chain.

The project matters because chicken breeding is a key part of producing the chicks needed by farms.

The government has not given a construction timetable in these accounts.
