Woman missing in Hérault forest found safe

Jessica Da Encarnacao, 45, was found safe on Monday after going missing in a forested area of Hérault, southern France.

She had gone out with friends near the hamlet of Maurian, in Taussac-la-Billière, to gather food.

She became lost while trying to return to her car in the mountainous, wooded area.

She spent the night walking in the woods before being found at Saint-Étienne-Estréchoux, not far from where she disappeared.

Gendarmes used drones, dogs and a helicopter in the search, and a public appeal for information was issued.

The planned search on foot was cancelled after she was found in good health.
