South Korea’s hy launches microbiome skincare brand Iocell

South Korean company hy has launched its Iocell skincare brand and entered the microbiome skincare market.

The brand focuses on the skin microbiome, the community of microorganisms that live on the skin.

Its key ingredient is a cosmetic ingredient made with hy’s skin probiotic HY7714.

Iocell includes five products, including a skin barrier essence, a serum, a lifting cream, sunscreen serum and a mask.

hy says cell and human-use tests found skin improvements, and that levels of some common skin bacteria increased after product use.

The launch expands hy’s business into skincare, alongside its work in wellness products.

The company says it plans to grow its wellness business across inner beauty and skincare.
