South Korea to test map links for reservists’ training transport
South Korea’s Military Manpower Administration is testing map links for training transport from October 20.
The links will go to people taking transport vehicles to mobilization training through a Kakao notification message.
The links show where to board, so recipients can open the location in a map app.
Until now, the messages gave only an address, which people had to search for themselves.
The trial aims to make finding the pickup point easier for people attending training.
The agency plans to expand the service in 2027 to people receiving individual enlistment notices.
