Avantika Malik says Imran Khan first suggested they separate

Avantika Malik says Imran Khan first proposed that they separate after an 18-year relationship.

Malik spoke about the breakup in a conversation with Soha Ali Khan on her YouTube channel.

She said they met when she was 19, married in 2011 and have a daughter, Imaara.

Imran initially wanted them to spend time apart, and they mutually decided to divorce six months later.

Malik said the marriage did not end because of one major incident; small strains built up as they changed over the years.

She said they repeatedly tried to work through their problems and described both of them as having been unfair to each other.

Malik does not consider their 18-year relationship a failure, despite the pain of letting go of the future she had imagined.
