Van der Gijp doubts Verbeek will return to coaching

René van der Gijp doubts Gertjan Verbeek will coach again in professional football.

Van der Gijp shared his view on the KieftJansenEgmondGijp podcast.

Verbeek last coached a professional club in 2021, when he was in charge of Almere City.

Van der Gijp says Verbeek left clubs after recurring communication problems.

He says Verbeek succeeded at clubs where he respected a senior figure, but lacked that relationship at AZ.

Van der Gijp praised Verbeek personally, calling him a very nice person despite the problems he described.

No new coaching role is reported, and Van der Gijp expects no club to hire Verbeek.
