Hana Securities cuts Korea Investment Holdings price target after earnings slump
Korea Investment Holdings’ third-quarter net profit fell 58.1% from a year earlier, to 282.3 billion won.
The South Korean financial group was hit by lower stock-trading income and losses on investments and foreign exchange.
Trading activity fell in domestic and overseas markets, reducing brokerage fees, while losses on assets and currency movements added to the strain.
Hana Securities lowered its price target from 318,000 won to 249,000 won, but kept its buy rating.
The group’s investment-banking business grew, and its domestic brokerage market share also increased.
Hana Securities said fourth-quarter results may remain under pressure because of market volatility and seasonal costs.
It said easing interest-rate increases could reduce some bond-related losses, while the group’s investment-banking business and potential dividend growth may support longer-term returns.
