French horse-ball rider Roxanne Dubois dies after severe weather

French horse-ball rider Roxanne Dubois has died at 27 after severe weather in southeastern France earlier in the week.

She was a member of France’s national team and the daughter of its coach, Raphaël Dubois.

Dubois had won European and world titles in youth and senior competition.

The circumstances of her death have not been made public.

Horse-ball matches at the 5 Étoiles de Pau were cancelled, where she had been due to play this weekend.

Organisers plan to pay tribute to her during the weekend event.
