AirTrunk pauses plans for Singapore listing amid market uncertainty

Sydney-based data centre developer AirTrunk has paused plans to list in Singapore amid volatile markets.

The company, founded by Robin Khuda in 2015, was acquired by Blackstone for $24 billion in 2024.

AirTrunk had sounded out some investors about a possible listing, but gave no timeline.

It was considering a structure similar to a real estate investment trust, and investors questioned the proposed fund’s terms.

The pause comes as investors scrutinise AI-related listings more closely, despite strong demand for data centres and AI services.

Other businesses have also delayed or dropped planned share offerings, including Firmus, which abandoned a proposed $44 billion Australian float.

AirTrunk continues to expand in Asia, including plans to increase its investment in Japan to as much as US$30 billion.

No new listing date has been announced.
