Rheinmetall shares fall after report of delayed Boxer order
Rheinmetall shares fell after a report of a delayed order for Boxer military vehicles.
The report said Germany’s large order may come in February 2027, rather than around early December as had been expected over the summer.
The Boxer is a wheeled military vehicle, and the order is for Germany’s armed forces, the Bundeswehr.
Rheinmetall shares fell by as much as just over 5% during the day and closed down 3.6% at €1,000.
Citigroup analyst Charles Armitage said the order would remain very large despite the delay, and that delays were not unusual for such orders.
He also said Rheinmetall could still exceed its €100 billion order-volume target for this year, and that the shares could be reassessed after the contract is signed.
