Turkey’s AI startup count rises to 504

Türkiye Yapay Zeka İnisiyatifi, an organization that tracks the country’s AI startup ecosystem, updated its startup map in October 2026.

The map now lists 504 AI startups, up from 482 in April and the first time the count has passed 500.

The update added 43 startups and removed 21 whose websites or operations had ended.

Many of the newly listed companies are recent, with 25 of the 41 startups with known founding years starting in 2025 or 2026.

Agentic AI, which refers to systems that can plan and carry out tasks, had the most new entries, while legal and human resources technology also gained startups.

The map includes companies in several Turkish cities, as well as some founded by Turkish entrepreneurs but based abroad.

TRAI says the larger ecosystem can support new partnerships between startups and organizations, and plans to keep updating the map for businesses, investors and others tracking the sector.
