El Hijo de Rey Misterio wins mask match as fan is knocked from apron

El Hijo de Rey Misterio beat Xtreme Tiger in a mask-versus-mask wrestling match at The Crash’s 15th anniversary show in Tijuana, Mexico, on Friday.

In this type of match, the loser must remove his mask, and Xtreme Tiger unmasked after the loss, giving his name as Leon Sereno Estrada, age 45.

During the show, a spectator climbed onto the ring apron and struck Misterio in the stomach, and Misterio knocked the spectator off the apron.

The event reportedly drew more than 5,000 people.

The match ended with Tiger losing his mask, a major outcome because the contest put both wrestlers’ masks at stake.

Footage of the incident has circulated online.
