Singapore mother turns children’s old clothes into keepsake quilts and bears
Siti Nur’ain Awari, a mother of four in Singapore, makes quilts and stuffed bears from children’s old clothes.
She first turned her own children’s baby clothes and uniforms into keepsakes for them.
The idea grew after her cousin asked her to make a quilt from a bag of her daughter’s clothes in early 2024.
Nur’ain had sewn and altered clothes since she was a teenager, but spent months practising before cutting up the fabric.
She began taking orders after sharing photos of her work online.
Her business, Patchwork Handmade Keepsakes, has since transformed thousands of children’s garments into mementos.
Bears start at S$85, and quilts start at S$120.
