South Korean Democratic Party leader declines to answer Yoo Si-min’s criticism

Democratic Party leader Kim Min-seok said he would not trade divisive remarks in response to criticism from writer Yoo Si-min.

Yoo has criticized President Lee Jae-myung and the South Korean government, saying Lee is breaking up the progressive camp.

He also accused the party’s official YouTube channel, Minty07, of helping to divide that camp.

Kim said he saw little need to comment on Yoo’s remarks one by one and called for restraint rather than escalating the dispute.

He said Minty07 is the party’s official broadcast and had become established relatively quickly.

The disagreement centers on divisions within South Korea’s progressive camp, including the role of the ruling party and its media channel.

Kim did not say what would happen next.

I will not answer the language of division with the language of division; it is necessary to use language that is even slightly less divisive, or to exercise restraint so as not to make such issues bigger where possible.
