NSW government takes control of approval process for Sydney town square plan
Sydney wants to build a new public square opposite its town hall.
New South Wales has taken the project’s approval process away from the city council and put it under state review.
The plan would require demolishing seven buildings and is opposed by the state premier and a major retailer.
The state review will consider the proposal and give the community a chance to comment.
