Skydio and L3Harris integrate anti-jamming radios into military drone

L3Harris and Skydio integrated tactical radios into the X10D military drone to help U.S. forces keep it connected in areas where communications may be jammed.

The X10D is a compact reconnaissance drone that gives troops an aerial view without exposing personnel to the same risks.

The system combines Falcon IV radios with the Wraith waveform to help protect the link between operators and the aircraft.

Electronic interference can break that connection, making the drone harder to control and limiting the information it can send back.

More than 150,000 U.S. and allied radios can host Wraith, potentially allowing forces to use the capability with equipment already in service.

The integration also includes Wraith Shield, which scans radio frequencies for threats and can detect and neutralize adversarial drones.

How well the system works will depend on its performance in real operations and against changing electronic warfare threats.
