Two men arrested after police seize more than 60kg of drugs in Dällikon

Zurich cantonal police arrested two men in Dällikon after observing what they described as a suspicious meeting on Thursday.

Officers found about two kilograms of cocaine on a 48-year-old Serbian man, while a 33-year-old Swiss man tried to escape by car.

Police seized more than 60 kilograms of drugs in later searches, including cocaine, amphetamine, ketamine, methamphetamine and cannabis, as well as ecstasy tablets and prescription medicines.

The younger man threw cash and a mobile phone from his car as he fled; one account says the cash was more than 40,000 euros, while another headline says 40,000 francs.

Police also seized about 30,000 Swiss francs and 57,000 euros from the two men.

Both men are suspected of drug trafficking, and prosecutors have asked a court to place them in pre-trial detention.
