Ben Wang in talks to play Iceman in Marvel’s X-Men reboot
Ben Wang is in talks to play Iceman in Marvel’s upcoming X-Men film, which is being developed as a reboot of the franchise.
Iceman, whose real name is Bobby Drake, is a founding X-Men member with the power to create and control ice.
The casting has not been confirmed by Marvel, and Gabriel LaBelle, Jackson Kelly and Rhenzy Feliz were also reported to have auditioned for the role.
Wang has appeared in Karate Kid: Legends and is due to appear in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
He would take over from Shawn Ashmore, who played Iceman in earlier live-action X-Men films.
Several other cast members have been announced, including Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops and Christopher Abbott as Professor X. The film is scheduled for release in 2028, with filming expected to begin in the coming months.
