UNAM student taken to hospital after accident at FES Aragón

A student was injured in an accident at the FES Aragón campus of Mexico’s National Autonomous University (UNAM) on November 5.

The accident happened inside the school at about 1 p.m., and the university did not provide further details about what occurred.

Campus medical staff gave the student first aid, with support from university safety personnel.

The student was conscious when an ambulance took them to a medical unit run by Mexico’s Social Security Institute, or IMSS.

The student was taken for specialist assessment and care under the student health insurance coverage.

FES Aragón informed the student’s family and says it is continuing to support them and follow the case.

The university asked people to respect the family’s privacy and avoid sharing unconfirmed information.
