Adamuz crash victims condemn Óscar Puente’s joke about Renfe

A promotional video for a Spanish TV programme shows Transport Minister Óscar Puente joking about Renfe problems in a mock elevator scene.

The clip is promoting his interview on Cara al Show, scheduled for Wednesday.

Victims of the Adamuz train derailment condemned the joke and said it showed insensitivity.

The crash in Adamuz, Spain, on January 18 killed 46 people, and some survivors still have serious effects from it.

The victims’ association says families are still dealing with the consequences and waiting for answers.

The joke has renewed anger at the minister because he is responsible for Spain’s transport ministry.

Puente’s interview is due to air Wednesday on La Sexta.
