Kaprizov reaches eight goals as Minnesota loses 5-2 to Winnipeg

Kirill Kaprizov scored twice for Minnesota in a 5-2 loss to Winnipeg in the NHL regular season.

The Russian forward scored in the first period, but Winnipeg went on to win at home.

His two goals brought his total to eight after seven games, putting him alone at the top of the league’s goal-scoring standings.

Kaprizov also has three assists, for 11 points, and has scored more than a third of Minnesota’s goals this season.

Minnesota relies heavily on its leading scorer, who is in the first season of a contract with a $17 million annual salary cap hit.

The Wild are scheduled to host St. Louis on Friday, October 16, while Winnipeg is due to visit Chicago that day.

Kirill plays fast, skates well and always battles for the puck. He is a very talented guy who knows how not only to score, but also to play defense. Kaprizov plays at a high tempo, scoring in different ways, which is what you need.
