Jak Crawford to drive Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin in Mexico City FP1

Aston Martin will put Jak Crawford in Lance Stroll’s car for first practice at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Crawford, a 21-year-old American and the team’s third driver, will take part in the session at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

This will be Crawford’s fourth FP1 appearance of the 2026 season, after sessions in Japan, Austria and Belgium.

Formula 1 teams must give rookie drivers four first-practice outings during the season, so this session completes Aston Martin’s requirement.

Crawford made his F1 practice debut at the same circuit last year and has also worked with the team in testing and the simulator.

The outing gives Aston Martin another chance to assess Crawford and gather useful feedback as it prepares for the race weekend.

Stroll is due to return to his car after the session.
