Four companies fail to make bond payments due in Turkey

Turkey’s central securities depository said four bond payments due on October 23 were not completed.

The payments were for bond redemptions and coupon returns, which are periodic payments to bondholders.

The issuers had not transferred the money needed to make the payments.

The bonds were issued by Alnus Yatırım, Alves Kablo, Ata Varlık Kiralama and Fikret Petrol.

Alnus’s missed payment included a 200 million-lira bond’s fourth coupon and repayment.

Turkey’s financial regulator had suspended Alnus Yatırım’s activities.

An Ata Varlık Kiralama bond involved in the missed payments named Fikret Petrol as the fund user.

No new payment date was given.
