Instituto seeks to protect its home record against Newell’s
Instituto hosts Newell’s in Alta Córdoba as it tries to keep the lead in its group and extend its unbeaten run to eight matches.
Instituto has won every game it has played at its Monumental stadium this season, though a 2-2 draw with Boca was played at a different venue.
Its home wins include matches against Platense, Gimnasia, San Lorenzo, Estudiantes de Río Cuarto, Talleres and Deportivo Riestra.
Leonel Mosevich is suspended, while Jeremías Lázaro is out with an injury, and Jhon Córdoba could take his place.
Alex Luna may be rested because another booking would rule him out of the round-of-16 match; Jonathan Galván is also close to suspension but is expected to play.
Newell’s could be without Matías Cóccaro, who is recovering from a muscle problem, and still faces a chance of missing the playoffs.
The match could strengthen Instituto’s position ahead of the Clausura playoffs, with the group phase still under way.
