Millwall beat Derby County 4-1 after scoring three early goals

Millwall beat Derby County 4-1 at The Den in the Championship on Saturday.

Kyrell Lisbie scored twice in the opening 10 minutes, and Luke Cundle made it 3-0 before the 20th minute.

Jake Cooper added Millwall’s fourth late in the match, while substitute Filip Bilbija scored Derby’s consolation goal.

The win was only Millwall’s second in eight league games, after a difficult run of results.

Derby remain second from bottom and four points from safety, and have gone nine games without a win.

Derby manager John Eustace said his team had seven defenders out injured and that they needed to defend better.

Millwall next travel to Birmingham City, while Derby host Norwich City on Tuesday.

We all know we needed it. Our start was excellent. You could probably see that part of it was some pent-up frustration from all of us.

We've got a lot of injuries at the back at the moment – seven defenders out – and it's only a makeshift defence.

That first 20 minutes was really disappointing. The manner we conceded the goals was very soft. But I was happy with the response after half-time. We battled and showed a good spirit.
