The Notebook musical to open at London’s Judi Dench Theatre in 2027

The Notebook musical will make its West End debut in London in 2027, at the theatre formerly known as the Shaftesbury Theatre.

It is due to open on 13 April, with previews beginning on 10 March, and will be the first production at the newly renamed Judi Dench Theatre.

The musical is based on Nicholas Sparks’s novel, published 30 years ago, and the film starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling.

It follows Allie and Noah, lovers from different social backgrounds, and uses a memory-play format in which an older Noah reads their story to Allie, who has Alzheimer’s disease.

The production is directed by Michael Greif and Schele Williams, with music and lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson and a book by Bekah Brunstetter.

The West End cast has not yet been announced, while tickets are on sale and 50,000 are available for £50 or less.
