BRI Hosts 783 Participants in Indonesia’s National Internship Program

Manpower Minister Yassierli visited BRI’s internship program in Jakarta and praised its mentoring and structured training.

The program gives Indonesian university graduates six months of direct work experience in the banking industry.

BRI has 783 participants this year, placed at its head office and regional offices across the country.

Mentors guide participants through workplace tasks and projects, with training in areas such as data analysis, banking and communication.

133 of last year’s 571 participants were hired by BRI, though the bank says employment there is not the program’s only measure of success.

The government’s National Internship Program aims to give 150,000 people work experience in 2026, helping them prepare for professional jobs.

I appreciate BRI because the program is very well designed. Mentors help plan in detail what participants will learn, practise and manage as projects over six months. We hope that by the end of the sixth month they will have enough experience and skills to enter the workforce.

At BRI, interns do not merely observe. They are given the opportunity to be directly involved in work, learn alongside mentors, and understand how the knowledge gained during their education is applied in the workplace.
