Ransomware affiliate Artem Stryzhak sentenced to 70 months in prison

Artem Stryzhak was sentenced to 70 months in prison for his role in ransomware attacks.

The 36-year-old Ukrainian worked with the Nefilim and Hive ransomware groups, targeting organizations in several countries.

His victims included hospitals, government bodies and businesses, and attacks disrupted patient care.

Prosecutors say ransomware attacks caused major losses and threatened sensitive data.

Stryzhak was arrested in Spain in 2024 and extradited to the United States in 2025.

Authorities are still searching for alleged co-conspirator Volodymyr Tymoshchuk, with an $11 million reward for information leading to his arrest or conviction.
