Spanish court approves Frutas Lozano debt restructuring

A court in Huesca, Spain, approved restructuring plans for Frutas Lozano and its three related companies.

The plans cut the group’s debt from €17.5 million to €4.3 million through €13.2 million in debt reductions.

The family-run fruit producer and seller had to negotiate again after a provincial court overturned its first plan in September 2025.

Its financial problems stemmed from a failed investment, an unsuitable financial structure and rising costs, especially for energy used to grow, store and prepare fruit.

The court said the plans offered a reasonable prospect of viability and that affected creditors would receive more than they would if the companies were liquidated.

The plans take effect immediately, though the rulings are not yet final, and are intended to help the group keep operating by matching debt payments to its ability to generate cash.
