Putin to meet top officials on cybersecurity

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet top officials to discuss cybersecurity on Wednesday.

The Kremlin said the meeting reflects growing concern about threats to the economy from attempts to weaponize artificial intelligence.

It said Russia must prepare for these risks, even as AI can improve efficiency.

The meeting is not linked to recent Ukrainian drone strikes on four Russian data centres, the Kremlin said.

Three of the centres belong to Yandex and one to Sberbank.

Participants will include ministers, security officials, Sberbank’s head and central bank governor Elvira Nabiullina.

The Kremlin described the discussion as a broader, systemic meeting, rather than a response to those specific attacks.
